Do you have means to purchase a Visa gift card or even Google Play card? Then again, if you don't trust them then maybe you just shouldn't do it at all.

Then don't do it. Also, never use your credit card anywhere. My cousin had his number stolen at Home Depot. He's a cop. My parents at DSW and a restaurant on vacation in Tennessee. Dad's a retired cop.

Yes, the Google Play Store is safe. You can always purchase with a gift card if you don't want to use your credit card.

Don't see why not. If Google was in to scamming people it would be known. Android is to popular for something like that to stay quiet.

Trust me on this... With how much money Google has they aren't looking to scam you out of the few bucks on a visa card to risk their business .

Every example here involves the human element of someone taking their information from a physical card. Also, with credit cards you can dispute any charges and not have to pay. Debit cards are similar, but the money is instantly gone which is worse. As long as you are using a secure purchase method online or other methods which may use encryption, the odds of your information being compromised (unless malware is on your system) are lower then going out to a restaurant.
