I am extremely interested in Google project FI but have questions...

#1.
Can carrier branded nexus 6 work on project FI?

#2.
If I set up payments with Google for nexus 6P can I pay it off early?

#3.
Insurance on device available thru Google still on project FI

#4.
Last ... How soon do u get your invite???

Also those who are on project FI , how long? Pros? Cons? Regrets????

1. Yes. May require flashing appropriate software build.
2. Yes, you can pay it off early.
3. For the new Nexii the Protect is available for purchase
4. Depends. Some people received right away. Some waited months. I waited around a month.
I've been on Fi for about a month. I like it. Only encounter no signal once. Haven't traveled far from a metropolitan area yet though.

Almost a month now...I'm generally always in WiFi range...love it!!!
Really thinking of switching Iam in a similar situation I have Wi-Fi at home which is excellent and work and gym I don't use much more than 500mb. My only concern is if a power outage where to occur Sprint has some coverage in my area.

Haven't seen any tutorials on which method of dialing is used? Stock or hangouts? I just started using hangouts today .

Paying on AT&T $85. A month 1gb data, unlimited talk and text. Plus next program $28. For next 18 months.

7 days in and I have used 0.23GB, half of which was because I ran a speed test on T-Mobile, which was faster than anything I've ever gotten on Verizon. I think service will be fine in metro Atlanta; I'm just worried about how it will be in rural Georgia.....though I'm not there very often.

Just brought my wife on board.
So two independent plans for under $50. Not counting hardware costs.
Only complaint is limited phone options.
Both have Nexus 6 phones. Which in reality is overkill for both of us.
No complaints regarding coverage so far.
Bottom line: admire the concept...fear the monopoly.

Same here. Left VZW after like 10 days about 2yrs ago because of family plan too expensive. Moved us both to TMobile and while around ATL was "ok" speeds for the most part, when we travelled to either parent's house (Michigan or Maryland), we had zero service along I-75/I-85 and even when we reached our destinations, signal was spotty at best. Price as about $50 cheaper than VZW for both, but we hated not having service where we really needed it/rest stops/hotels/etc. Even Maps/navigation couldn't work when we hit traffic jams to find alt routes.
So last Nov, we switched back to VZW empire and loving the signal everywhere, but still I hate paying again $50+ too much. I just got on Fi (with my 6p) while I'm on VZW with my Moto X still, trying out Fi. Around ATL so far signal has been good, but travelling/rural areas will be the key. If it craps out, might have to ditch Fi all-together......

I just got my invite from Google fi but...

I am under contract from AT&T I'm on the next plan and I have to pay off my phone which is a Nexus 6 to be released from my contract I don't want to burn any bridges with AT&T I'm figuring March I should be free and clear. My big question is do I have to request another invite if I've waited so long to sign up? Also I will have my Nexus 6 but I won't have any insurance on it once I cancel my contract with AT&T will I be able to get insurance through somebody even though the devices a year and a half old?

Burn bridges? AT&T doesn't care as long as you pay off your phone. The Next plan is specifically about not having a contract... it's just a payment plan for your phone, but if you pay the rest of the balance, you can jump to Fi. And, believe me, if you decide to go back to AT&T, they won't hold any grudges! :)

My wife and I just got 6Ps and are thinking about switching to Project Fi. I used secondary gmail accounts to request the invites, our main emails are on a domain I have hosted via Google Apps for Domains

Am I going to have any issue with functionality with the phone being tied to an account I really don't use for anything? My real email, Google accounts, play store purchases etc are under the Google hosted domain account, not the gmail account.

I have the same situation as you, and I am not having a problem. My main google account on the phone is a non-gmail account but I have the gmail account I use for Fi as a secondary account. No issues.

Since I haven't seen anyone mention, the Invites do not expire. So, when you pay off your phone, even if it is next spring, you will still be able to join Project Fi on your current invite.
