Google search bar not working

Hi. Approx one week ago the Google search bar on my HTC One S (4.1) and my Nexus 7 (the old one) stopped working. When I type in a search phrase and press enter, nothing happens, the screen stays blank. It doesn't freeze but it produces no results. The equivalent of the hourglass just keeps circling. If I click on one of the tabs on the bottom, like images, then it loads. And if I then click back to the web tab it also loads normally. So why is it not working when I try and search normally? Thanks

Same problem on Galaxy S3. Some times it works, but most of the time it doesn't display any search results. I've tried to clear the app data, but it did not fix the issue. Also tried to re-install.

Yessssss. This has been killing me softly..... Been happening on all 3 of my devices. (Nexus 7, new nexus 7, and my nexus 4.

Please fix goog

I've had this problem three times - twice on my N4 and once on a brand new N10. Had to uninstall Google Search's updates to fix it.
