Google services drain

I've noticed on a day when I'm out and about a lot and my phone is in my pocket not being used, Google services is the biggest battery drain and my battery life is pretty poor. Down to 50% today with just 1.5 hours screen on. It makes sense as there is no doze but how do people get around that? Do people have Google location history switched off and does it make a difference?

Turning off Location History might help somewhat. Also, in the Location menu, tap More and see if there is a Scanning option there. Select it and turn off wi-fi scanning--this used to be in the Advanced Wi-fi menu.

It could be some other app accessing play services. I would try to restart in safe mode to see if you still have the same problem
