I clicked on this app and under connected apps, it shows, mobile nation and login_getsastisfaction.com.

What are they? Why are they on my phone? Do I need/want them?
Are they using battery?

yup they are the important piece of software(Play Service) on Android. when you login to any website/Android apps using Google+ you will see an entry there.

they wont use battery.. its just an entry saying that you logged in using google on these apps

I agree with the above post. You can access all your Google account settings from that app. It makes finding everything easier.
