Go easy on your equipment my dude! In my household, I still have a working Pixel 1, 2XL, 3, 4XL, & 7pro... Two of those phones have been through 3 people, including a middle schooler. All are still fully operational. Also, all the way from my Moto X Pure Edition and Nexus phones, vanilla Android is such a better experience, which is why...Pixel.

For camera/photo app integration, Pixel wins. The Pixel 9 did get an ultrasonic fingerprint reader yay!

Otherwise, not too much to get excited about as it is the last generation Exynos-based Tensor (that has not been all that impressive compared to Snapdragon 3, so far). The price is a bit over the top and trade-in values are unsurprisingly low.

I have higher hopes and expectations when they transition to TSMC and will pass on 1st gen Pixel 10 to give them time to iron out any "surprises".

1. Google has only been saying it isn't focusing on outright performance with its Tensors but "AI" as an excuse - and fanboys lap it up. AI performance is NOT all about the TPU - the TPU is an AI accelerator, yes, but AI features require the processing performance of the whole chip. Just take a look at what Qualcomm means by its "AI Engine" - it is the CPU, GPU and NPU all working in unison. The fact of the matter is that to get AI functions happening on device, you absolutely need a high-performance chip.
2. There is no way the Tensor G4 is "based on the Exynos 2400" - it might have the same newer CPU cores, but the configuration and clock speeds are completely different, not to mention the custom AMD-based Xclipse GPU and NPU. Plus, Google kept the same mid-GPU from the G3 and the same TPU - so much for prioritising AI...What the TG4 likely shares with the Exynos 2400 is FOWLP, which has completely transformed the thermal performance and efficiency of the chip. Google claims 20% increase in efficiency for the TG4 and that will be why - plus, the new more efficient modem.
3. In addition to the better thermal performance the TG4 will have, Google has also added a vapor chamber to the Pixel 9 Pro series for the first time.

Spot on!!!! This article reads like a hit piece with a bunch of inaccurate information. He claims they did nothing for thermals, yet they included vapor chamber cooling as well as efficiency gains with both the processor and modem. Like how is it that even good journalism to just trash something not even out yet, that you clearly know nothing about?
"To its credit, Google is adding a vapor chamber to the Pixel 9 Pro, and while that is a positive move, it isn't available on the standard model."
The article did mention the vapor chamber cooling. The problem is its only offered on the pro versions and not the regular pixel 9. And you have to admit offering 128 gb of storage for a flagship phone while making you pay $100 more for 256 gb stinks and feels like something apple would do. Hopefully you aren't saying that androidcentral shouldnt be allowed to criticize the pixel at all?
