Google Talk Start Up

There are many posts about GTalk on the forums but none seem to address this problem.

It seems that GTalk automatically starts every time I turn on my phone (Dinc). I have turned off the setting so I am not automatically signed in, yet when I look at running services, there's GTalk.

Any ideas on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

I think, and I may be wrong, that gmail uses the talk service as a way to push email. I know if I force quit the service than my emails do not come through unless I manually check.

if you root your phone you can uninstall gtalk along with any other pre-installed apps you want removed
