I've retired my Chromecast with Google TV dongle in favor of an Apple TV. Zero ads on the interface, no auto play videos, just a simple interface to let me get into the apps/services I want. My Samsung TV's interface is nearly as bad now after their update. So much garbage that isn't wanted.

I don't even notice them. The stuff at the top of the screen is rarely of interest and I ignore it.

You tube and Hulu ads, on the other hand, drive me nuts. But I'm too cheap to pay extra so I just live with them.
