I have seen a lot of hatred of Google TV/Revue, my take on it is this:

It is like the G1 Phone when it first came out, give it time Google will get it right. Remember Google releases a lot of things in "beta" so it will get better. I am sure when they get 2.2 running it things will speed up just like on the phones.

I stream a lot movies from DNLA sources and this so far works better than my Western Digital Live TV. The UI and search absolutely crushes the WD Live TV.

If you want see a really crappy product check out the Monsoon Vulkano. More than half the features didn't work out of the box and connecting via the Android client would crash the box.

My 2 Cents

I personally have been very impressed with the google tv overall. I also own the apple tv and the google tv just does so much more. I now keep the apple tv in my bedroom and my google tv in the living room. I have the blue Ray player and the only thing I wish it had was the DLNA so that I can stream movies from my computer and the android app, which I am sure will e entually come. For now, I do have both of those capabilities with the apple tv so if need be I will just use that if I want to do those things. Can't control my apple tv with my Evo but I can with my Ipad. Other than those two features and the impressive netflix app on apple tv, the google tv blows the apple tv away.

Dlna

What did you all use to rip your movies? Mine are MPEG2 & i need to re-rip or convert. Wondering what is working for others before i begin this arduous task. I love my Revue. i agree it is a bit buggy, but so was my Droid when I got it. It is strangely compelling to use. It somehow turns TV viewing into an experience. It really is a bit like being a kid again ( but the content is a hell of a lot better since I grew up on the Brady Bunch!)

Thanks for the comparison

Thanks for the comparison, I was curious about a feature comparison.
