Sort of irrelevant since it did on-device (no passthrough) decoding anyway. Shield is STILL somehow better all these years later on older AndroidTV with more features and performance.

If you care about picture and sound you would have bought a Shield to begin with. An no I'm not shaming those that don't have a Shield. Simply that if you have a Google Streamer and have a sound system where HD Audio actually mattered/perceivable, you had the extra $50 for a Shield.
