Google Video Chat

Anyone know when google plans to add this feature? Now that fring doesn't work with skype, this is at the top of my most wanted apps list. Anyone read/hear anything? Rumors are even welcome.

Would be good... I would request it. Then google wouldn't have to rely on 3rd party apps for a feature such as video chat.

Yes, exactly this. Personally, I'm kind of hoping Fring just adds the google video element to their client. I wouldn't want to use Fring as my google chat client, but for video calls, I already know it handles everything just fine.

That would be great and I am now shocked that there isn't a Google video chat app out by now. Maybe when there are more android devices with a front-facing camera, we will see it.

For whatever reason, Gmail chat is not supported in ANY version of Linux, but hopefully the Android popularity will change their mind on development for both the Linux desktop and mobile markets.
