Google voice after Kit Kat?

I used to just hit the Google widget and could speak to Google to text, find, schedule.. Etc.
But since upgrading to Kit Kat, it just opens what I've asked in a Google search results.
Am I doing something wrong now? A new setting that I don't have set right?
Or is this just a change with KK?
