Google Voice issues

I have my voice set on here - but for some reason, majority of the time, Google isn't recognizing when I speak - not on the Tab S6. Usually though I have the phone nearby and it does recognize on the phone easily. How can I make sure it recognizes just as easy on the Tab S6/ I use the Tab S6 often as a Gps and being able to speak parts of the address at times is handy.
