Google Voice question

Is it possible to use a normal sms program for send and receive and use gv for calls only? I ask because when I send using Handcent all replies come back through gv.

Not sure why it would be doing that? If I send a sms via handcent I get the reply back through handcent and vice versa?

I hope that doesn't happen to me. I'm actually installing Google voice right now, and I use Handcent also.

Yep, mine replies through gv. Minor annoyance...

Sounds like you are using the GV/Sprint integration. In the GV app on the phone, go into settings... sync and notifications and check the box that says Text messages "notify via text message"

You will then need to disable inbox notifications so you dont get double notifications. One drawback is you wont get notifications for VM from the GV app but you can configure GV to notify you via SMS message.

I actually unchecked the notify in status bar box and checked the notify in popup box and it works like normal. Thanks!
