I wonder if anybody else has had this happen? I get a text message from one of my contacts tonight that I work with. It's a simple hey how are you I respond back saying what's going on. The next message tells me that when my phone rings to press a two digit code and it gives me two numbers. The next thing I know my phone is ringing from a Washington DC phone number. The number is 12024558888. I answer and it's a pre-recorded message telling me to enter the two digits that were given to me in the text message. After a little digging around I see that it's trying to hijack my Google Voice number.
I called my coworker and she must have noticed something going on, but asked me what I thought she should do or who to contact. I guess if it's hijacking your Google voice, maybe that's how it is sending texts to look like they are coming from the person's cell phone number?

Any ideas or anyone else had this happen

It could just be an autodialer calling a block of numbers and spoofing its callerID for each call.

Ideas? Delete texts like that before reading them.
