So, I'm sure a few people do this already; or, have figured out/ know how to do this: but, I would like to share my settings for people who may be new to GV+S.
First. The new update was great: having the option to skip GV+S and just use it for voicemail. Was using that since they did it. I was missing my features though.
Anyways: Most of us probably hate using the GV app to send text messaging (Especially since MMS doesn't come through and your using 2 different messaging apps. This didn't bother me as I usually just email pictures anyways). But, for me, when I'm home I have terrible service; My wifi at my house is terrible and needs to be replaced. I could not send SMS through the GV app. It would just hangup saying it's sending but never send.
Pretty much what I did was:
- Disable status bar notifications
- Enable Text to Phone
- Forward Voicemail to email
Now I just use the regular native messaging app; and, when I get a voicemail I get the email and just head over to the GV app to listen to it.
Using your phone is the same as it would be (Minus where the voicemail notification is if you were using GV for voicemail.); and, you still get all the good features of GV. IE blocking an entire list of people from ringing your phone when you don't want them too.
Hope this helps anyone new to GV+Sprint.
