So, I've been an avid user of Google Voice for my voicemail needs since it's inception and I can't for the life of me get it to work on the V30. On every single other phone I've owned (and there have been A LOT), I install the app, configure the Voicemail setting in the Calls area and select Google Voice. On the V30, Google Voice just doesn't show up as an option.

Has anyone been able to successfully use Google Voice as their Voicemail provider on the v30? TIA.

I just tested GV and it also didn't work for me (kept asking me to opt in for Verizon Visual Voicemail). I did find the below on Reddit regarding the G6, but haven't gone through the steps yet. But may be worth shot:

For Verizon : You need to dial *73 (and wait for it to call and hangup - that will cancel fwd), and then *71 followed by your google voice number (and wait for it to call and hangup) and all should work (google voice will still not show up in the menu but calls to your number will got to your GV number). For completeness, you should do same with a *90+your gv number, then *92+your gv number. You can also review and potentially perform all of this via verizon website https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/secure/services/CallForward.action and https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...marts/verizon-call-forwarding/&token=qzL79Ag4

I am not certain how this functions for other carriers but Google's web page offers some advice here : https://support.google.com/voice/answer/165656?hl=en --- for AT&T it tells you how to contact a CSR and what to say.

I cannot thank you enough. That link worked for me...I followed these steps for At&t:

Turn on Google voicemail for a phone
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, open Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Phones" tab.
Under your forwarding phone, click Activate Google voicemail on this phone.
Follow the instructions to turn on Google voicemail.

Basically you just need to dial a string of numbers on the phone and it set the phone up for forwarding to Google Voice. Granted, it doesn't show up in the call settings like it used to, but at least when I call my phone now it goes to Google Voice.

I swapped in my Tmo sim card from my previous phone already set up with GV. Works perfectly, voice to text and all. The programming is done with the Tmo network, but yes you need to enter those number strings to set it up first time.
