Google Voice vs Verizon voicemail

I keep getting notifications that I have Verizon voicemails - little cassette symbol. I called Verizon and asked them to remove the carrier voicemail.

How do I get the notification off? I can't find anywhere in the phone to clear the notifications.

I am running CM10 btw.

i had a similar, if not the same problem. Check out my thread from a little while back, the comment by Jet300 fixed it. hope this helps
