Ok guys, just picked hip my s3 tonight and I'm having trouble getting Google voice to work. When I try to let Google voice configure the app, it crashes and says that com.android.phone stopped working. Then if I try to change in phone settings it fails. Any thoughts?

Have you tried calling your phone and leaving a message to see if Google Voice handles it? I get this same error, but I had set it up on the computer and by manually forwarding calls to GV, so it was already configured outside of the app. Try backing out of GV until it quits and call your phone to test where the VM goes. If you already had GV on your last phone, all you really need to do is set up call forwarding on your new phone.

If it doesn't work, then go to voice.google.com, click the little sprocket icon in the upper right and select Settings from the menu. On the settings page, there should be a check next to your mobile phone. Next to the Delete button should be a link to Activate or Deactivate VM on that phone. If it says Activate, click it and follow the directions. Your VM should now be set up. If it says Deactivate, click it, follow the instructions, click Done, the link will change to say Activate, click the link again, follow the instructions. Your VM should now be set up. Call your phone again to test it.

Guys thanks for the tips. Yep, the setting was working, but I didnt know it. Once I ran the instructions Google Voice it worked like a charm even though it didn't say it. Thanks a ton! Looking forward to playing with the new phone!
