Google voicemail cannot be selected T-Mobile

I tried setting up google voice voicemail but the option is greyed out and only said carrier? Anyone seen this?

Are you a postpaid customer? That is

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001.

when you go to select voicemail, it brings you to thr next screen with Your carrier greyed out and you do not haven any choices. I am post paid, I was able to do this on all my phones before(today on my nexus 6 before I switched)

I did and it said activated but not dice :/

Dial 611 and ask T-Mobile to check and make sure voicemail is set for Google Voice instead of T-Mobile's voicemail service. I've had to do that once or twice over the years.
