Hello All,

This is my first post in this forum (But I'v been visiting this forum since three months as soon as I bought my phone. I really like the content and the friendly help/advice other members offer. Great job!!).
Okay..now to the actual problem..

-I initially activated my Google Wallet on ICS (without root). I added my CitiCard successfully without any problems (note: At the time, you could only add Google Prepaid and CitiCards)
-I did NOT root my phone until I got my JB update since I knew it was just a matter of days. (wanted to save some time and effort in locking/unlocking bootloaders and resetting stuff :-))
-Post JB update, everything was fine. When I rooted, this messed up my google wallet. Obviously, I get the unsecure device prompt and my card status was messed up. So, I reset the app data. Since then I've not been able to add my CitiCard anymore.
-Google Wallet then received an update that allowed any card to be added. Here is the strange thing, I was able to add all my other cards (from other banks) except the CITI Card ( Unfortunately, I just have one CITI Card so I cannot experiment with another).

Now, during this troubleshooting exercise, I called up Google customer service a few times and they directed me to CITICard customer support (Direct number for GoogleWallet problems 877-762-2989). I called them at least 3 times (once every two weeks). Each time, they would tell me, that they need to re-provision the card and that CITI bank is working on some security update on their end. They would take my details (name, card number etc..) and ask me to try adding the card after a week. All the attempts have remained futile.

More Details: When adding the card, everything goes fine. The final step during validation (adding the card), the process runs for about 20-30 mins and times out. I then get an error "Could not add the card ....Please contact CitiBank".
Here are the steps I am using to add the Card:
-Open Wallet Application
-Try to remove the corrupt card. If it fails, then reset the Wallet app (clear App Data).
-Restart the App...which again asks for email address and all those initial setup stuff.
-Add Card.
-Key all the information.
-Processing time and then timeout with the error message.
This cycle just repeats everytime I add the card.

Is anyone running to the same problem? If so, did the issue get resolved? Can you please provide any guidance?

Thanks in advance!

...Just got off the phone with CitiBank customer support (I got re-directed to Citi's Google Wallet support after calling the direct number). They verified my records and informed that my card has been re-provisioned and that now it can be added. This time adding the card worked without any problems! The only difference is that I added the card over HSPA+ instead of WIFI (not sure if that makes a difference). I am glad that it is finally resolved!!!

Hope other can benefit from this experience in case they are running into similar problem.

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue still, since the update... Not with Citi card though, but with any card I try to add!

Need help..Google Wallet support says Wallet DOESN'T work on unlocked GNex on AT&T? Is this true? Can't get it working on my phone and that is what support told me..

Since it happens with any card, I definitely suspect the app. Few things you can try:
-Make sure you are on stock image and NOT rooted.
-Try reinstalling the application itself.
-Use a fresh google account and try activating the Google Wallet and see if the account registration succeeds.
-Now try adding a card.

Honestly, It really doesn't matter if you're rooted or not as you can see it'll just say unsupported device.

If you're rooted & on a custom rom, you can delete it from your apps and re-download from the at store. As I do this every time I flash a new rom.

Don't ever restore it with titanium backup. Too many issues have been reported. Just download it from the at store, sign in with your email and your information will be there.

If you're not rooted, I would suggest rooting your device. Enjoy the personal customizations of your phone. :)

I tried on a completely different phone (Gnex unlock) and still no go. Add card failed. Tried it with a different Google account and still failed.

What carrier are you guys on? I'm on AT&T. The only thing I can think of is AT&T is blocking somehow

Try a different card. If that fails, root the device. Either way its definitely a weird situation. I'm on T-Mobile.

thanks. i have tried different cards I've never tried before as well as rooting the device!

THe ONLY thing I can think of is the new Wallet doesn't work on AT&T. Maybe I should get a T-Mobile SIM and try.

I can't add a single card on any of my accounts and I'm on sprint. I have uninstalled the updates from the app and updated again. I'm not rooted and the app used to work great.......before JELLY BEAN O.o

ok interesting. I also used a patched wallet apk and tried to add card and still failed. i can ONLY imagine Wallet having issues on their side and they don't know what's up
