Google Widget

I have used Google widget for sometime on my Note 8. When I clicked it, it always opened uip with the search bar at the top and a bunch of cards with news feeds it thought I would like. Now it opens to the search bar with a list of past searches, and a section below that tells me to click to see my feed. How do I get it back to where it just brings my feed uip automatically when opening it?

Yup, noticed the same thing too. If you open the Google app directly or through Assistant shortcuts, the newsfeed will appear automatically. BUT if you use the homescreen widget, now you have to go through the extra step of tapping that darn button. I tried it on an S9+ Tab S3, and a Lenovo tablet and they all have the same issue. I believe someone tried it on their Pixel, though, and they didn't see that.

I suppose. Started noticing it a few days ago, but usually just hit the 'Update All' button so I can't recall when the Google app was updated.

Same here. And it started a few days ago also. Ugh.

Same problem on my Samsung phone and tablet. Checked my settings and they are nowhere near as specific as they used to be but indicate stories way more stories should be populating automatically.
