Dumb question here. Pretty sure I know the answer, but curious.

Is there any benefit whatsoever to using a Pixel on Google WiFi? Not sure why it would be any different than any other phone, but they are both Google so... I dunno.

No, and I've done a speed test with my Pixel and the wife's iPhone just to be sure.

Bummer. I'm still looking for a solid, compelling reason to get a 3 and thought I might have stumbled into something. Back to the drawing board I guess. Thank you.

If you don't have any Pixel, that's a compelling reason to get one. (eSIM, updates you can set your calendar by, good phone, the camera in the 3 is unbelievable both for HDR and in the dark [the thing finds photons where there are none], lots of reasons.) But if you already have one? I have a 2 and find no reason (especially with Camera 3 released for the 2) to buy a 3, or even take one for free if they offered it to me (I'd have to buy a new Otterbox and they don't have one for the 3 yet).

My wife bought an Otterbox for her Pixel 3 XL at the Verizon store a week ago. I went with the Google Fabric case in "Fog" for my 3 XL.

Google WiFi is just a mesh wifi system like any other. I have one and it works great, but no better or worse than any other.

I got my Symmetry delivered last friday. They also have the screenless Defender out. I really liked the Commuter I had for my OG Pixel but it seems they don't make it for the Pixel 3/XL.

I'm still using my S8 for now. I really am looking for a reason to buy a pixel 3 (not xl), but there are so many issues coming out with the 3 I see that I'm having a very hard time with this decision lol.
