This is my Epic 4g. Not so epic anymore. It was in between my legs in my car and I forgot it was there, so when I got out, it flew out and smacked the concrete, face down. The Gorilla Glass had been great up to that point, but now that its cracked, its weak (makes sense). I brought it into a Sprint store and they were just amazed, they said they had never seen a cracked Epic before. I have actually been using it for the past month like this, it's still completely usable, but it kinda takes the beauty away from the Super AMOLED Display :/

i would not say that's not an epic fail anything dropped right on the concrete like that face down will most likely break I have a screen i can sell ya for 85 Screen and diga

I have been throwing my Fascinate around for a while now. It refuses to break and its seen some nasty falls. The camera lens actually cracked before the screen.

Otterbox for your next phone I suggest. I haven't left my captivate on my lap when getting out of a car but that did happen with my iPhone 3G a few times. Ended up with a few tiny scratches you could only see if you were looking for them.

I cracked the inside panel of glass on my old droid x. The gorilla glass on the outside wasn't touched. I have pics posted in the droid x forum on here. They ate a ways back but the phone was still usable, just couldn't see nothing...Lol...

Dropped my Epic 1 month to the day from the top of a fire truck. 1 single crack, top to bottom, dead center. $100.

I haven't done anything yet, but it would be $100 to replace the phone through Sprint insurance. Fixing it would be $35 but they said they cant do that cause its too messed up

Be careful, I cut my finger on a cracked screen by lightly moving my finger acrossed it out of curiousty to check smoothness - VERY Sharp! :-[

is it just the glass that is cracked? or the casing too?

I had my screen replaced for $35 last month at a sprint store. Mine did not look like yours though, mine spider cracked the whole screen. no pics sorry.

This just happened a few weeks ago with my OG Droid...I used it for a few days before I got my replacement, worked like a charm even though it was spider webbed!

I dropped me EVO on the second day I had it.....back in november....but I took it to sprint and they replaced it for free....

I cracked my oled screen 5 days ago, went to sprint repair store and they said the new policy is that they can't fix Epic screens anymore and I don't have the insurance. Called Sprint and they said I was sh!t out of luck. What should I do?

As you see your situation is totally unique. This is not the norm (your screen cracking that way).
NOTE the demonstration, Dell Streak's Gorilla Glass tested:

And for all of you who question whether the Epic is really Gorilla Glass it's confirmed here: CORNING® GORILLA® GLASS | FEATURED PRODUCTS

No where does it say "Epic" in that list on Corning's site. It says Galaxy S, which doesn't automatically mean it's on the Epic.

Right, and Samsung as well as Corning have stated all Galaxy S models. I think the Epic would be included in that classifcation, seeing how it is a Galaxy S phone. Just use Google it's not like there is a shortage of info on the very subject you are contesting right now. I have dropped mine on the concrete several times, sometimes thinking it was going to end up like all of those i-phone screens I hear about, not even a scratch. You people just buy in to the mass hysteria the retailers tell you because they want to make a buck. I have even sat on mine forgetting I had it in my back pocket, didn't break. IDK maybe I have the only one that has Gorilla Glass or maybe I am just lucky each time.

Or hear you go from our own home turf Androidcentral.com on one of their front pages stating all Galaxy S phones have Gorilla Glass produced by Corning. Here is the link: http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s-and-gorilla-glass-combine-powers

Now watch a screen protector company pay them to take it down.
