Got a text message sound, but there was no new message?

Hello,

I'm fairly new to the HTC one M8, only got it for 3 weeks.

But I noticed something strange today. My phone was in my pocket (as usual) when I heard the text message (SMS) notification. So I unlocked my phone but saw no new message. And yes, I'm sure it was my phone, home alone at that time.

I just want to make sure if this is a known issue or not, I'd hate to miss a text.

Ah, the infamous ghost text.

Are you using the stock messaging application?

Do you have any blocked contacts? This was happening to me when I had accidentally blocked someone's number.
