It being my 4th Epic I went back inside the Sprint store. I have had nothing but nighmares with the phone since the Froyo update and it turns out even before that since what I found out today may interest you. I have always had problems with it using either one of my Jawbone ICON's. They bounced in and out even when in my front pocket. I wasn't sure if it was the phone or the jawbone. Then I finally started putting on the new Gingerbread releases after 3 of the Froyo phones had failed for one or more reasons. About a week ago the phone was dead when I woke up. Nothing brought it back so I went into the local Sprint store and they told me since it had 3 previous fails I had a choice to get out of it. I chose to leave. After some indecision I chose the HTC 4G Shift. It came in the next day and I started using it. Same problem with the Bluetooth going in and out but this time I tried Sprint Stores Plantronics Pro Bluetooth. It had the same problem.
Then as we were driving away from the store I noticed my bars were not as high as either one of my two boys phones. (one had the HTC EVO 4G and the other had my old Palm Pre.) Mine was up and down. That night after numerous problems updating the PRL I went back to the Sprint store the next morning. The guy apologized for the phone and took a brand new one out of the box and told me that wouldn't happen this time. Boy was he right. For the first time my Jawbone hooked up and never dropped out once all day. The battery didn't go low half way through the day and every time a customer called I had no problems answering the phone with the Jawbone. It was something to behold after months of suffering with that Epic that I wish those of you who use Bluetooth's could share. I can't believe my 4 Epics were the only ones who couldn't use Bluetooth consistantly but I could be wrong. I'm absolutely elated with the new phone. I sure like the Epic screen and keyboard but the one I have is a real phone. Nothing to root, update or hope is updated. This phone could lock up once a day and I'd be thrilled compared to what I just went through.
That's it. I'm not sure this will stay here or not. I'm with an Android yet and I did try about everything around here. I think we were guinia pigs for Samsung at this point. The two phones are not even close. What a breath of fresh air.
All the best to those who offered help.
