I went to a water park last week and have to keep my G4 in a locker. Turns out those lockers are good RF shield and when I took my phone out it lost like 50% battery (probably kept searching for signal). So I decided to get waterproof pouch from Amazon.

The G4 takes up the entire center transparent area; it is a perfect fit. The pouch is a little thicker than the G4. Even with the case on my phone, I could still fit in a few credit cards and cash. I tested it with a tissue first and it came out dry after swimming with it. So in the G4 and into the swimming pool!

First thing I noticed is that when the pouch is wet, the capacity touch screen does not work at all. I kind of expected it since I read some of the reviews. But even if the pouch is dry, you cannot double tab to turn on screen. I think it is because of the proximity sensor. It thinks the phone is inside the pocket even thought the part covering the sensor is transparent.

So I can't really use the phone in the pool but I could use the camera. I could double click the down volume button to open the camera app. None of the touch screen will work, and no tap to focus. Clicking the down volume while the camera is opened will take the picture. It is not perfect but it worked.

I got this one btw:

Was much weight added to the phone? I am going on holiday in a few weeks and was looking at something similar for the S6 so I can take photos under water.

Hmm would be great to have but if it doesn't work in the pool then why wear it? Maybe there's another one that does work.

Not much weight at all. It is just a pouch with some plastic locks. Probably less than an ounce.

I have a zip pocket in my swimming trunks. If I am at a resort or beach, I could just take it with me (along with the hotel room key, credit card) to go swimming. Every time I leave the phone and room key in the beach bag, I am afraid that I will come back and found someone took the bag. Also I guess if I go snorkel I could take some pictures with the physical button. I don't know if there is any that will work under water... I read reviews on different ones and negative reviews always say that it doesn't work under water.

Play with it some more tonight and was actually about to use the touch screen if I hold the bag with 2 hands and touching as much of the back surface as possible. I was actually able to touch the video button and recorded a video of my pool vacuum cleaning the bottom of the pool. :p
