Hi folks,

I would like to be able to batch install all my apps from another tablet to my new nexus 7. The apps are all backed up in my older tablet using an app called "all in one toolbox".

If I copy the app backup folder to my pc then install "all in one toolbox" on my nexus, then install the backup folder of apps from my pc to the nexus, what are the chances that when I run "all in one toolbox" again and try to get it to do a batch install, that it will successfully install the apps that I have?

Could I damage the nexus doing this?

I have hundreds of apps so don't want to go through the pain of downloading them all again.

Any other ideas appreciated if you don't think the above will work?

many thanks
:)

What might happen is that because of framework differences the install may fail, or force close all the time. App transfers like that aren't really recommended even if they are identical devices, let alone when they're different.

I recommend Titanium Backup for it. I had zero issues doing this from my Droid Bionic to Galaxy Nexus, and from my GNex to my Nexus 7 and Nexus 4. If you're not familiar with TiBu there's a link in my signature to my guide for using it, to give you some tips. When you've backed up everything, just copy the folder /sdcard/TitaniumBackup to your computer, then to the new device, then install TiBu on the new device and start a batch restore. You may need the paid version for the most easy, seamless experience, but it's absolutely worth the couple bucks. One of my most used and trusted root apps in the time I've used Android devices.
