what is the best way to do a car gps on the 7 tablet 2012? for free only.. can I get a bt antenna set up or is thru the usb better??
and how do I get all the US maps free??the tablet would be mounted..

I don't understand the question. Have you tried Google Maps app? What about Waze? Either should work...

Why do you think you need a separate antenna? The Nexus 7 2012 has built in GPS.

I found Navfree....
you mean GPS without a wifi connection??? wouldnt an antenna help??? how would you attach it?

Assume you want an offline GPS program. You really won't find any that are free with current maps, but there are a few that are pretty cheap. Sygic is free, you just buy the maps. It works pretty good on the Nexus 7 2012.

No need for an external antenna but external power would be good.

Google Maps lets you download maps to your device - Open Google Maps -> Tap the hamburger menu at top left -> scroll down and tap Tips and Tricks -> under Search and Explore, tap Download and use offline areas.

Or, just go here: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6291838?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en

but does Navfree use Google maps in that state???I thought they used a public set of maps.
Navfree runs good on the 7. Once you clear the cache it runs slick.

My point was, why use a third-party app when you can just use Google Maps? Yes, Google Maps is a full-featured navigation app.
