GPS receiver?

What type of GPS receiver does the Nexus 7 have? Is it just like the receiver in a normal Garmin GPS? How many channels does it have? Is there any way to view the satellites that it is receiving from and the accuracy like on my Garmin? Where is the antenna located, which way should the device be held for best accuracy?

I assume the Nexus 7 will use Google Maps for navigation? Is this a good option, or should one pay for a third party App?

I know, a lot of questions! I'm very interested in the GPS function of this Tablet.

Thanks!

You can view the satellites that the device is seeing by downloading an app such as GPS Status from the Play Store.

I have an Asus Transformer and use both Google maps (when I have wifi or tether) and Sygic (when I'm out in the boonies or in Mexico). My 2-year old tablet has great gps reception, so I'm sure the N7 will too. - sheureka
