GPS Settings on Galaxy S5

Well, I am coming from the GS2, so this is a substantial upgrade for me. Loving it so far. Question about GPS. Do you guys keep it on or turn it off, except for when you need it? Back a few years when I had my old phone, I always kept it off to save battery. Wondering if GPS is a drain on newer tech phones?

it wont hurt to leave it on. It only gets used when it is needed
