The title says it all.....and based on what I'm reading LG is known for lousy GPS.

Is it inaccurate, slow to pick up the satellite signal, or both?

Weak signal.... Slow to attain satellites....sometimes reboots the location found and starts over. Sometimes its worse than others.

I'm sending mine back under warranty because of the GPS signal being crap. It struggles to maintain signal through the windscreen of the car, never had this issue with the G3 or G4.

I might be doing the same..... I filled out the form on LG but it only allowed me to enter silver as a choice so I'm hesitant until I speak to LG because I have Titan....I assume they replace with refurb and don't repair.
It is a Verizon phone that I bought new from an EBay dealer so I should call Verizon but not sure they handle phones not purchased through them.

I didn't use maps much on my first G5, but I remember it taking a while to find me the couple of times I used it. My second one, finds me straight away. I've also noticed the second one seems better at keeping a cellular signal on a moving train, flipping between 2G, 3G and 4G pretty quickly, where the first one would stick on 0 bars 4G and wouldn't have a signal at various points. Possible the settings were different, but I dont think so. So, what i'm saying, with totally unscientific flawed evidence, is that my second one seems all round better with its various antennae than the first one, cellular and GPS. So hopefully a replacement will be better.

Not sure what to do....really like this phone, especially the camera. I hate to give it up and I also don't want a return.

Just depends -- You really only have a few options. Either send it in for a replacement, return / sell it altogether, or live with it. Does GPS matter that much to you?

For me I know I couldn't stand a phone not using GPS. I use it a lot to check traffic and for other various things.

I always use my GPS..... Never had a bad one. Ironically its working better today. From what I'm reading on the internet a lot of other models and even other brands are having issues especially since Marshmallow. I guess I'm spoiled partly because I've always had Motorola phones and their radios were known to be superior to others.

I'm not sure if my problems are gone for good, but its working great. Don't get me wrong, not as strong as my previous Moto phones but much better after tinkering a bit. The best thing you can do if you are having issues in a car is to use a mount that gets it close to windshield or dash. I've found that my case makes no difference on or off.

Update: My GPS is working great for the last couple of weeks including a repeat of a trip I made where I was having trouble.
I believe one of the things that helped was calibrating the compass. I make sure its mounted above the dash and it hasn't failed me yet even in cloudy situations. I've been monitoring the signal strength and it varies from 5 to 13 according to GPS Toolbox. The GPS in this phone isn't as strong as my prior phone but its working great.
