Hello,

I am new to phone upgrading. I've been searching the forums but can't really find an exact answer to my questions.

Facts:

1. I am with an existing plan known as 2YCPro FT Even More 750 with Tmobile that charges 59.99/mo. No longer on the t-mo website.

a. This plan includes:
? 750 Whenever Minutes?
? Two-year agreement - great discounts on phones
? Two lines to start; add more lines if eligible*
? Unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile calling
? Unlimited Nights and Weekends
? Free domestic long distance and no digital roaming charges across the US
Lines 3-5 share existing Whenever Minutes for $5 per month, per line.

We pay an additional $20 for family texting.

2. I am currently eligible for an upgrade.

3. We have 4 lines total. I am one of the additional lines added to the plan.

Questions:

1. If I upgrade through wirefly - should I pick the options
Upgrade my phone > family plan - other lines

2. Do i get to keep keep my EXACT plan, without making any changes to it?

3. At check-out, they offer a bunch of additional services. Including unlimited text messaging for $10/mo. I already have unlimited text messaging, can i just elect the option "none"?

4. I see another option for "Additional lines added to the Even More Family Unlimited plan come with 200 talk minutes per month. To increase the talk minutes to unlimited on this line, select the feature below:"

Why are they calling this an additional line added to the plan. Didn't i choose the option to upgrade one of the other lines of the family plan?

Thanks for your help!

not sure about that. but i have heard people have had really bad experiences trying to upgrade phones through a 3rd party like wirefly or amazon etc. why dont you just do it through a store or calling customer service? at least if you call cs, and they try to change things on you, you can threaten to cancel service and then the loyalty dept/retention dept (not sure what its called anymore) will be able to get you upgraded and let you keep your current plan or maybe even get you something better for the same price

You would want to through T-Mobile store for upgrades. You would know and see what you're getting. Keep in mind, new upgrades will require a data plan, and sometime your old plan may not work with new upgrade. Good luck!

Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Android Central Forums

I'm in the same position as you. Our plan is no longer on Tmobile and I went through LetsTalk since the price is much cheaper for an upgrade than on Tmobile. My order was cancelled, and when I called up to ask why, they said that because all of our lines have data already, that an upgrade is not possible as this is a new T-Mobile policy.

Anyone else heard of this?

You should be able to keep your current plan, but I know on some of the older grandfathered T-Mobile plans, the $20/ 2GB data package isn't available. Only option is the $35/ 5GB or $65/ 10GB.
Best option would be to move to the Classic 1000 talk for $59.99 plus $20 for family text messaging.
Not sure if that would interfere with Wirefly's policy's after upgrading; sometimes they penalize you for changing things on the account after upgrading.

Not a big fan of those sites.
I'd recommend going through a T-Mobile corporate store because the reps make commission, and sometimes they have good deals going on phones.
My local store is offering select Samsung 4G phones buy one get one free after rebate.

If you go to a corp store, ask about the Value plan. Best plan, period. Ask about the installments on the phone. Your phone is cheaper the day you buy it, and your monthly bill should also be cheaper. IE, instead of the $79.99 for Classic 1000, the Value 1000 is $49.99 plus $10 for unlimited messaging, $10 for 2GB web package. Add a lines are also $5 cheaper. That's the way to go.

Or at least Best Buy. I've had good luck with them.

Good luck, hope I've helped more than I've confused you :D
