Great battery life to being horrible the last few days?

Everything have been great on this phone even after the ota but the last few days my battery have been draining like no other. I used to get 20+ hrs and now can't even last 10 hrs without needing to charge. I have not change the way I use my phone. Even when im not using it and on standby the phone will drain a good 25% in a 6 hr period. Does that sound right?

sounds like you are having some problems either with an idle process or the 4g in idle. you can try to pull the battery to see if that makes a difference.

Noticed the same thing. Great battery life, then two days ago - bang, six hours tops. Trying the battery pull now. Thanks.

Hey question for you battery pullers. Do you power down the phone and then pull it, or is it pulling it while running that shakes things up in the way we hope for?

It really depends what the problem is. I dont like to pull the battery with the power on,so i shut it off then pull battery then press and hold power button for 15 sec while grounded.

I don't know if this translates to the Thunderbolt and LTE or not, but I've always experienced crappy battery life when Verizon starts messing with their towers.

If they are servicing the CDMA towers, the radio starts searching & doing stupid stuff and can drain a freshly charged battery in 2 hours (on my V3c Razr). It can last for a few days until Verizon finishes. The first time it was happening, I actually bought a new battery thinking it was just the existing battery being old. But the new battery died just as quickly. A few days later everything went back to normal (2 or 3 days between charging) and even my original battery held for a day or 2.

Knowing this and the mere fact that my location will be one of the last to get LTE (no fiddling with the towers), my battery life has been great. In fact yesterday, I was only down 50% after a full day of being off the charger. (Very light use). So, if you are in one of the areas that is much higher on the list, the crappy battery life MAY be a result of tower upgrades and such.

Exactly like above, I notice days that I am having network issues, almost everyday now it seems, my battery life is compromised. Most days I can unplug at 6am and will have more then 25% by 6 in the evening with a good amount of use and navigation. Yesterday, ~3pm I was @ 25% and I hardly used my phone since I was on my motorcycle for 3-4 hours.

Since doing the battery pull this morning, the battery level is much more stable like it used to be. So we'll see how it goes through the weekend, but it might do the trick.

Which way did you do your battery pull, Melhaus? While powered on or while powered down?
