I can honestly say that so far, AT&T customer service is pretty good. I just recently (May 6), became an AT&T customer from Verizon and Virgin Mobile, and with the exception of one individual, AT&T has been awesome (the one representative was literally reading from her script and every time I'd interrupt, she'd have to start over lol). Anyhow, what happened is, I was having problems with my data and wound up with AT&T giving me an extra 4GB of data at no charge. And unlike Verizon, AT&T don't charge for SIM cards.

They have good customer service depending who you get. Verizon doesn't charge either BTW, only indirect stores do.

I didn't think Verizon charged either, but I spoke directly with Verizon customer care and they said that because I wanted to use my phone on prepaid and not sign a 2 year contract that I had to pay the $45 or $60 fee for the service.

Well you may have me there. My guess is the fee would cover your first months service? You should try going to a store or calling again to see if its the answer. Were you doing prepaid? Or month to month post paid?

I'm going with prepaid. IMHO, the only reason to get a contract/postpaid would be to get a new phone at a reduced price. My 2.5 year old HTC DROID DNA is still a great phone (of course rooting and romming the phone makes it that much better). Thanks for your input, maybe I'll try again later.

I just switched this week to AT&T from Verizon and am much happier. Verizon's customer service has gotten worse. I switched mainly due to coverage especially at home.

They could hardly be any worse than Verizon. It makes me wonder if my unlimited data plan has anything to do with Verizon's attitude.

I've been with AT&T for the past 14 years, their customer service is pretty good, we have Verizon at work and I personally hate when I have to deal with them, the Verizon store employees are the worst people to deal with, the 1 800 business account CS is ok.

Are you the business owner or in charge of the business account?

I left Sprint/Verizon about 7 years ago! I love att and they have been great to me over all 7 years. No issues at all on my end! If I ever had any issues they have always taken care of me me in some way shape or form. Glad to see others like their CS as well.

Verizon's customer service was horrible. The biggest problem was my coverage at home was marginal and the network extender became unreliable. They never updated their tickets with me. So far with AT&T the coverage is good and I doubt I will need to call them much :)
