I recently got a note 5. I was on campus this last Sunday to try out the camera. I noticed a green dot that would appear in every pictures where there was sunlight in the picture. I tried different setting but never could get rid of it. I don't remember having this issue on my note 4. Anyone having this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. I attached a photo with an example. Left-middle part of the photo.

I also have that Green dot when shooting photos only in which direct light is focused towards the lens.
It is probably because of the reflection of light on the lens. I have a similar effect of bluish green dot on my spectacle lenses. 😁

Must be different glass composition, did not have this on my note 2 or 3.
...nonetheless this camera is awesome!

Yea I don't remember it being on my Note 4 neither. Anything to we can do to lessen the effect?

Aliens. Or a ghost. Maybe a time traveler. 😨

Seriously, I haven't noticed it on mine but I'll look for it on my next outdoors shot.

you are not misunderstood msndrstood...time travel could be the very latest feature on the note 5 with this last update! I like it... !!
If anybody has an opportunity to take a pic of the sun...er...ah... or do time travel, please post your results... :)

Ya, I see it now, I think that you have dropped your mobile and damaged the inner lens.

Nope hasnt been dropped. I see others are having the same issue. Anyone know of a fix or a way to minimize it?

First let me say I'm not a professional photographer or anywhere close, I just take pictures for my own enjoyment and memories. I'm sure there are some here that can answer this far better then me. But from my experience what your seeing here is just lens flare caused by the bright sunlight. I've linked an article that explains it. Also, here are two pictures I just took. One is standing in the sunlight and the other standing shaded under my porch. Both are of the same area, only difference being the camera lens was shaded from the sunlight in the second image. Hope this helps. https://photographylife.com/what-is-ghosting-and-flare

The dots are in different locations so it's not the lens, I'm into photography and the effect is called lens flare and happens quite often when shooting into direct sunlight or the sun is slightly off to the side. Nothing wrong with your phone.
