Yep. It's there to indicate that there is an active phone call if you navigate to another screen.

I actually it better with sense than moto.... its larger and easy to see.

since u can use data and voice at the same time on the bolt the green lets u know ur call is still active when you navigate to a new screen to lets say look something up on the web or sent an email.
