Green light dosen't turn on when fully charged

I have a Samsung GS3 Verizon running Android 4.1.2 my green light doesn't turn on when fully charged and plugged in. Any help/suggestions please?

When it hits 100% I have found that it usually takes another couple minutes to show the green light indicated a full charge. That being said, if it says 100% for a good 20-30 minutes then something is wrong there. I would recommend that you let it sit on the charger for a little bit when it claims 100% and see if it eventually changes to green after a good amount of time.

Are you use the charger that came with the phone?

I had the same issue except not only was my green light not turning on, but the red charging light wasn't either even though I had the 'LED indicator' setting enabled. After some simple troubleshooting such as restarting my device, trying a different charger and ultimately performing a factory data reset, I called Verizon and was able to swap it for a refurbished S3 under the manufacturer warranty.

Something like that sounds like a hardware issue. If the LED doesn't work at all it was probably an internal failure. If the OP is getting every other color aside from the green light when its charging it could be the charger isn't fully charging the device or possibly his battery is defective. I am just trying to think of things to try before going to Verizon and getting it replaced.

If you have access to a different battery and/or charger (maybe a friend?) try that and see if it fixes your problem. Chargers and batteries are cheap ways to fix the issues and won't have to worry about a refurb from Verizon.

Thank you I've been using the charger that came with it I'll wait a lil longer to see if it goes green. I also use a car charger.. I've also noticed sometimes my red light doesnt go on when charging. Also anyone know how to get notifications on lock screen w/out rooting? (VZW)

The bolded part above makes me think it could be a hardware failure. By notifications on the lock screen do you mean have the LED light up or something else? If you want the text message bubble thing where you can open directly to the sms program they removed that in Jelly Bean update.
