Long time reader but decided to take the dive and register in preparation for the purchase of an Android phone once they are released (got my eye on the Atrix like many others unless HTC one ups them) and partake in the conversations. I have been a loyal BB user from the Curve to the Bold to the Torch. After being fed up with RIM setting the standards of their "flagship" phones to the standards of 2008, I sold my Torch recently in order to capitalize on the amount I can get back. I am currently on a TEMPORARY iPhone (don't hate please....I'm not a fan) given to me by a friend and I can't wait to get back into the Android game. I had a Captivate for a few months but gave that up to my brother.

I am looking forward to learning more about rooting, custom ROM's, overclocking, etc. I am hoping that a genius out there will find a way to get around Moto's "locked" loader fiasco asap so I can get to modding!

There are still custom ROMS for Motorola devices. I have the DX and it has the bootloader locked but I am able to root and overclock it.

Thanks for the link....I've skimmed through that thread recently and seems like my cup of tea depending on how the new moto will allow it
