I just picked-up my HTC EVO Shift 4G on Wednesday. It's been a bit of culture shock after having used a Palm Pre for 2 years, but I'm getting used to it, and really starting to like what I'm finding with the Android system. I had a Palm Visor Edge many years ago, which was a great PDA. I've since had a Treo 650, Treo 755p, and then the Pre.
The Pre was a great device, but it seemed that it would never become mainstream, and I grew increasingly frustrated when companies would provide iPhone and Android apps, but never for webOS. And now that it seems Sprint is not going to offer the Pre3, I decided it was time to make the jump to an Android. I had gone to Radio Shack to scope out models, and while I was there I got a call. When I took the Pre out of my belt case to answer it, the little cover that protects the USB port fell off, its tether broken.
I took that as a sign, and bought the new phone then and there.
I've already found a lot of useful information in this forum, and loved the "2 Guys, 2 Phones" article comparing the Pre to the Evo. I look forward to participating in the discussions here.
