My name is Lance and I bought my first smart-phone, an LG Optimus V (VirginMobileUSA), back in May, 2012. I've stayed with VMU service since I worked for them briefly before/during/after their national launch in 2002. Their service has been good and I loved the old plan I was on, until I had to give it up when I switched to my new phone.
I found the forums while searching for recommendations for a case and holster (mainly a plastic holster) for my phone. I loved the plastic holsters Nextel used for their old Nextel i1000 iDEN cell-phones (remember checking your phone when you heard the Nextel chirp, because -everyone- had one for work during the DotCom days?
, because the one I bought at my local mall kiosk broke too soon.
I'll be scouring the forums soon-ish for tips and tutorials on rooting my phone to better manage it's memory and storage features. I already updated the running AndroidOS to 2.2.2 (VM670ZV9), and did not brick it, so I hope my past experience with FreeBSD and Linux (Ubuntu) will help me out when I try to go deeper into the root world.
