My wife hates grocery shopping, and I don't mind it - therefore, I (an Android geek) do the grocery shopping. For years I've used the good old paper list method. That is until today.
I went searching for an app I could load up on my Droid that would accept an imported list, and allow my to check things off as I went along (thanks for all the help, Twitter dudes!). There are plenty of "list" apps to choose from, but all too fancy. I don't need to know how much my lettuce should cost or which of 40 categories I should sort said list into. Nay, I just want to get the items, check them off the list, and move along.
Enter Google Tasks. There's not an app for this per-se, but pointing my Droid's browser to gmail.com/tasks takes me to a land of simplicity when it comes to loading up a shopping list.
In Gmail - just type up the list (one item per line), copy (ctrl-c) the entire list, click on "tasks" (it's just under the "contacts" link), then paste (ctrl-v) in the first line item. The whole list loads and syncs up automatically. Awesome.
Play around with it a little - there are all sorts of happy things you can do with it.
Once again, Android totally saved me time, you guys. Bazinga.
More info? Here it is. Tasks
