Group messaging in hangouts?

Hey everyone just picked up my Turbo today and finally retired my Razr Maxx HD. I have a question about sending text to a group in hangouts. What im talking about is having a group set up in my contacts IE "fantasy football group" and then in hangouts selecting the group with all the people in it vs individually typing everyones name to send to the group. Any ideas if this is possible or do i have to switch to a 3rd party SMS app like Chomp?

I'm pretty new to hangouts but I know this is possible from what others have said. I just don't know how to do it yet

I haven't messed w hangouts much, i always use the stock messenger.

Are there any benefits to using hangouts?

Group conversation is much easier to manage and you have a lot more options for media that's sent. More flexible general

I like hangouts because it's simple and a good looking app. It does pretty much everything I ask a SMS app to do, except for being able to choose a group from my contacts! Anyone know if this is possible?
