Group messaging replies

I have an S6, posting this on behalf of my mother who has a Note 5. With the Nougat update, I noticed when she sends a group text message all the recipients receive replies directed to her even though the Group conversation option is turned off.* Pre-Nougat she didn't have this problem. *For what it's worth, I'm able to send group texts and when a recipient replies, I'm the only one who receives the response. I also have Group conversation turned off.
