Group Messaging

Hi, I have a HTC Sensation and my provider is T-Mobile. I cannot seem to find a way to group message with my friends who all have iPhones. Am I missing something or is there really no way to group message? To be specific, what I want to be able to do is send and receive messages to and from multiple people and have the entire conversation in one thread rather than separate messages. It seems as though every time I try to reply all, my friends receive the messages separately and not within the original mms thread. I use the app groupme but it isn't as convenient because it only works when I start the thread so any time a get a group message from a friend, I still cannot participate. Any suggestions on a better app or any way to do this?
