GS3 Not connecting to my bluetooth!!??

Decided to go ahead and get a bluetooth for my galaxy s3 and everytime I scan for devices it doesnt even find the bluetooth.
I got a Jawbone Shadowbox bluetooth and wantes to try it out....

I need to find out if this device is defective or if my phone just wont connect...

Not to be a smartass but are you making sure both devices are in pairing/discovery mode when you are attempting to sync them. I have successfully used a jawbone earpiece, Jambox and some jaybird headphone without a hitch with my s3. If you are certain you have done the pairing correctly and the device pairs with other phones you may have a defective phone on your hands. Hope this helps.

I did get the two to pair, however I can hear great on the Shadowbox but I have to yell just to get someone to hear me at all. I did what directions said and made sure it was touching my cheek but that doesnt help at all.
