GS5 Having problems when left idle for over a minute

When i leave my phone on the side for a minute or two, and then pic it up to unlock the screen. whether i press the lock key or the home button, the phone turns the screen on and then off within 1 second. then ill press it again, and the same thing will happen. usually on the third press, the phone screen will stay on for me to look at my notifications and unlock the phone?


why is this, how do i fix it?

Provided you have not loaded an app that is causing this (bone stock phone) I would not even think about fixing it. Return it and get a new one that operates correctly.

how would i transfer all my pictures, apps, text messages to the new phone? sorry new to this phone and the last time i switched my phone or deleted anything, i lost everything?
