Btw Sams has it for $38 bucks! Just saw it today. Funny thing is they don't carry the Defender for the S8 Plus yet. They don't even had shelf space for it. Best Buy near me only has the Aqua color S8 Plus Defender in stock. Looks like a hard case to find. I got my black Defender at Best Buy 2 weeks before the phone came out. I would think the carrier stores have them in stock since they get daily UPS shipments usually. I would think the S8 Plus when Sams gets it will be $48 probably. The Sams by me at least has cut down big time on their Otterbox selection and carriers more Incipio instead now.
 
I picked up a defender today for my s8plus. I love it so far.

I like that they didnt try to put the screen protector on it, because the curved screen creates problems.

I have the verizon screen protector and it works fine w the defender.

While this defender seems to be the slimmest, it still feels like the phone is well protected.

I love my speck presidio grip, but i wanted the defender to use at work since there is a bigger chance of damage.
 
Great to know that I am not alone in the wilderness full of Spigen and UAG cases. Still trying to find time to put on the Alpha Glass. I know it only takes a few minutes but I could mess up a one-car parade.

Lol, I'm the same way. Terrible at installing screen protectors.

Please let us know how the Alpha install goes and how it feels to use.

If all goes well with yours I may pick up one. I'm still on the fence about the Defender though because of the annoying port coverings. I guess it works be good for the beach or a hike or something though, but I work in an office where sand and dirt aren't an issue.

Will do. If you pocket the phone, while the GS8 is protected against dust and water intrusion, it doesn't hurt to keep more debris out of the ports.

I can appreciate that, but I've never had a problem caused by dirty ports and it seems they would just get in the way more often than not.
 
Loving my Speck case that barely adds any bulk to my regular S8. The case definitely makes reading anything on the phone easier!

That is a really great price, I paid $40 for mine, the guy at the T-Mobile store gives me his employee discount. The otterbox is not cheap but I feel it's worth it. I like the Spigen Tough Armor and the UAG also however the Defender has the best front lip protection which is really going to protect the screen from most drops. I cringe when I see people getting these thin/minimalist cases that have zero screen protection from drops.
 
Hopefully, this iteration of the Defender is the start of a trend by Otterbox and will result in people not shying away due to the past bulk issues.

It's definitely not as bulky as the past yet it feels just as protective

Amazon is just starting to lower the prices on the s8 and s8 plus otterbox cases on a few of them. In another month they should drop some more. You can simply take it to Best Buy and have them price match Amazon for you and get it same price and not have to wait a day or two to get it.

Also another alternative is the I Blason Armorbox. The design looks very similar to the Defender and is a lot cheaper.
 
Typically do not like the bulk of the defender, but the one for the S8 Plus is really good. Bought it today and loving it. Best case Otterbox has made imo.

Any screen protectors work good with the defender?
