Recently made the decision to completely move to Android.
The Galaxy s3 should hit my local At&t store soon and I'm ready for an upgrade Aug.1.
Ready to go all on Android.

Does anyone use kies to sync Outlook?
I did a 3 month stint with a Vivid and HTC Sync worked really well. Now I'm going GsIII (to stay) and really need Outlook and the GsIII contacts to be the same.
Little help, anyone?

I use Kies, but not in conjunction with Outlook...

Are you using an Exchange email account or something? If you're using GMail, then no need to sync Outlook with Kies, etc. Of course, if you're not, then, well, that's another story...

Give us a breakdown of what you're using, and what you want to achieve.

Because I don't use Gmail as my primary email address, I used Outlook for email and calendar. I used Kies to synch contact information and calendar with Outlook so that I did not have to key all the entries. Be careful though. Don't hit the synch button more than once. I had random duplicate entries.

Hey, thanks for the reply....
I don't use a server and I do have gmail accounts. I use only one account for contacts.
I use Outlook on my comp for contact management, email, calendar, etc.....
My gmail and Outlook contacts need to be the same.
I've been a BB guy for years. I just need a couple things for a droid to do and I'm golden.

Awesome.....this is what I needed to hear. Thanks man!!!!!
After I get things dialed in, I'll give Kies Air a go. Maybe I'll be able to get a "circle sync" kickin with Outlook/Keis/Gmail ha ha.....
Galaxy sIII here I come, and no looking back!!!

Maybe I need to see about changing my user name....:)

Use the google outlook sync app, sync outlook to gmail and then sync your phone to gmail. Works pretty well. I think now the google app syncs calendar as well. I am using a 3rd party app because the google app didnt support calendar way back when.

I'm pretty sure Google Apps Sync is for enterprise? I ues a standard POP/SMTP account.
Please clarify

My apologies, Google App Sync is for Google App accounts and Im sure you just have a regular gmail account.

Here is the product I am using with a regular Gmail account:
Fieldston Software - gSyncit - Sync Outlook and Google Calendars, Contacts, Notes and Tasks - Toodledo - Evernote

Its not free, but works fine. My situation is a bit different than yours. I have an exchange server, so I am using Touchdown on my Android devices to sync. However, I also want all the same info in google for gmail, google voice, etc, so I have Gsyncit running on a PC running Outlook 2003. It just sits in my data center and wakes a few times a day and syncs the data to google. It works well.

Sorry for the bad info.

Thanks man.....it's all good. I'm just gonna let it ride for now. I won't even have my Gs3 till Aug so I'm not gonna sweat it. From what I get, Kies will get the job done. I really only need Outlook contacts to sync. Calendar will sync wirelessly

jcp006,
I tried syncing with USB cable and the contacts syncs perfectly. Thank you.
However, I can not get the calendar to sync. Any ideas?
I used the USB cable because the Kies program indicated that WiFi and Bluetooth syncing restricted the types of files that could be synced. Is this accurate or did I understand incorrectly?
The problem I have always had with gmail to Outlook (not enterprise but home version) is that gmail doesn't recognize many entries in Outlook and duplicates them over and over and over, including the holidays so after a few sync sessions you have hundreds of duplicates.
Thanks again.

On the version of Kies for WIndows that I downloaded from the Samsung US website, there was an option to synch the Calendar with Outlook.

I have used Kies and Outlook for syncing. It works great for calendar and contacts. The one thing that it will not sync is notes.

I put Kies on my comp a while ago when my daughter got a Gs2. It gives a tutorial about syncing calander & contacts with Outlook. Personally, that's what's most important to me. I wonder how Kies Air works? I'm pumped to check it all out.

I can't answer for the Kies Air because with my Skyrocket I couldn't get it to work (didn't try hard) because I had it installed on my work computer and sync while at my desk working. Let me know how it works for you.

I'm a stroke survivor and I only use one hand to type so I don't use the keyboard for forums very much. But I read them. How do I get Microsoft Outlook 2007 calander to sync with my At&t Gs3 android 4.1.1? Thanks

If you're using a MS Exchange server there is no need for third party software to sync Outlook contacts, tasks & calendar. It's done when you enter your MS Exchange server email address as an email account to the phone. I'm a little unclear on if you're saying you're syncing Outlook to your phone with the 3rd party software or you're using the 3rd party software to sync Outlook to GMail & the Google calendar. On my phone I have the MS Exchange server email address as one account and the GMail as another. For the calendar I can view either both the Outlook & Google as a combined calendar or view each one separately. I use the Outlook calendar for business & the GMail for personal use so it's the Outlook calendar I display 99% of the time.

yes and no.... Paid ($!5?) for CompanionLink /Deja Office and it works much better... I had difficulty getting Kies to function.... when it did work it did backup only. It was important to me too and I tried four different programs, but CompanionLink ge!ts my vote
