Gtab. Can I buy any model?

I want to get a galaxy tablet. I found a few on eBay that were reasonably priced. First question. When does the wifi only model release? Secondly, can I buy a galaxy tab from eBay that isn't the wifi only model and only use it on wifi only? I don't want the 3G coverage. I can always use barnacle for anywhere wifi

Yes you can. I have the sprint tab and use it as a wifi onlt device. Now the radio towers are always connected, but you can disable 3g. Its well worth it too, because I do not need something as powerful as the xoom just for internet browsing and some note taking in class.

The wifi only version came out 2 days ago and is priced at $350 but you can use the carrier versions as wifi only anyway. If you found one at a good price on eBay then I would say go for it

I can't find the WiFi only model anywhere. I don't get it... Some people say circuitry.com. I can't locate it on the site. Tigerdirect doesn't have em...where can they be found? I'm gonna take a stab at the local best buy later on today. Officedepot/officemax says they carry em as well.

I have a verizon model, and am using it for wifi only, and it works fine. I hear some people are even getting the update pushed to them, even though they aren't active with verizon.

I think the cell towers help the GPS lock in on the coordinates faster, which may be an advantage to a 3G model being used as wifi only.

I tether my cell phone, and use the G Tab for GPS, it works great

There is also a way to bypass activation (if you need to reset the device, or you receive it new or reset):

I don't want anything as big as the xoom. I already have an iPad. Gtab is perfect. I really like the size of it

Doesn't the Gtab have an SD slot? Bluetooth I'm not too worried about. I mainly want it for browsing,games,and the occasional e-reader. What other limitations does it have?

Thanks but I've been there done that. I get dead links or false promises from "in stock" items. I think VZW is my best bet as of now

I got mine from Tiger Direct. It came in yesterday and was DOA. Wouldn't turn on and showed nothing on the display when I plugged it in either. Called and got an RMA# and they are shipping me another one that I should get today. Hopefully this one will work. I don't see it on the TD website anymore though.

Made me nervous too but **** happens sometime. If this one comes in DOA then I'll reconsider my purchase altogether. But I'll cut them a little slack until proven wrong.

Everyone is sold out, except CDW, and they are charging $399

There are plenty of good deals on Ebay, and you can always use them as wifi only, just make sure you buy from someone with a really high rating when you are spending that kind of money.

I'm glad these are taking off again sales-wise, hopefully Samsung will decide to put more time/effort into the Tab now (gingerbread) since it seems like it was meant to be a big deal and they tossed out some good accessories, then just silence from them.

I got lucky... Called the local best buy and they had one in stock. Open box. Instant 10% discount. Sale price is $385 plus tax. I can't wait to get these meatclaws on it. Stay up all night chewing gum and goin galaxy nuts. LOL
